Yoga Safety Workshop
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Hang and Sarah for this 2-hour workshop to learn how to keep safe and free from injuries.
We all know yoga connects us to something deeper than the body. In order to find that deeper connection, we need to first take care of the body. Like all forms of body movement, injuries and pain can occur from repetitive movements. A smart and informed practice can help minimize unnecessary pain so you can step on the mat regularly and joyfully.
With the idea that we are all built differently, Hang and Sarah will help you to get to know YOUR body biomechanics and anatomy. They'll also share all the safety aspects on the mat, including the 8 major joints and the do's and don'ts of common yoga poses. They’ll also discuss common yoga injuries from their travelling and teaching experience. The sun salutation and other foundation poses will also be looked under a microscope for joint alignment and muscular function.
All levels welcome! This workshop is for both beginners and seasoned practitioners as well as yoga teachers. Come with lots of questions about your body and your practice, an open mind, notebook and pen. Lots of good stuff will be shared to start incorporating into your practice right away.
TOPICS COVERED: - In-depth practical yoga application of major joints and muscles - Common yoga injuries and how to prevent them - How to improve alignment and technique
