Frequently asked questions

I’m new to yoga, which class should I attend?

Attend the classes which suit your timetable. Our classes are accessible to all levels, and options are given to extend or modify your practice. You work the yoga into your schedule, we will work the yoga to suit your body. Click here to read a description of all our classes.

Do I need to book to attend a class?

Yes, classes often book out, especially on weekends, so booking is required. Book online or via the Mind Body App.

How much is a class?

Please see the pricing and memberships page for all pricing options.

Do I need to bring a mat?

Yes, at the moment we ask you to BYO mat to meet the Covid regulations. (We do sell Yoga mats at the studio if you are looking for a new one.)

How hot is the Far Infrared Heating in class?

Our heating never goes above around 25 degrees. We offer heated but not hot yoga to optimise your health. The Far Infrared Heat technology heats the surface of your skin for maximum health benefits, not the air temperature in the room. You will never be breathing in hot air. You will find the temperature warm but comfortable. Click here to read more about Far Infrared Heating.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is often described as the other half of a yoga practice. A Yin yoga practice is a slower, deeper practice affecting the connective tissues of the body. Yin Yoga is great for increasing mobility; nearly half of your flexibility originates in your joints. It is exceptional for building mental discipline as we surrender to stillness in long holds. You can expect to not stand up during a Yin class, but you can still expect a thorough and beneficial work out.

Can I eat before class?

In general we do not recommend eating a large meal within 2-3 hours of a class – if you must eat within 2 hours of a class then a light meal or snack that it easily digested is best. We sell healthy protein balls at the studio, and recommend you grab one after class if you're feeling a little hungry.

What do I wear?

Wear something that is going to allow you full range of movement. A t-shirt or singlet with leggings or shorts is all you need. Please leave your shoes and socks in the shoe rack at the front door.

I have an injury or getting over an illness – do I tell the teacher?

Yes – it is very important that the teacher know about any physical limitation you may have.

I’m pregnant, can I join your classes?

Firstly: Congratulations!! Secondly, yes. If you’re feeling good and having an uncomplicated healthy pregnancy our classes are fine. All teachers are prenatal trained. Make sure you inform the teacher and come early so the teacher can take you through modifications to some of the movements.
