Complete Tantra

Led by Bec this 2.5 hour practice takes us through the entire Tantrik Yoga series, a deeply mediative practice designed to have you notice, feel, and accentuate somatic experiencing. 

You'll move through a series of warm up exercises designed to drain and reset the lymph from around the brain in order to sharpen mental focus. With the mind engaged steadily, exercices move to the spine and increase body mind connection follow, activating a strong upward flow of energy in the body. Pranayama (breath control) is then practiced, before moving to the complete Tantrik Asana series; a series of shapes and energy practices that journey upwards through the chakras. 

The use of sound (humming, chanting) is used to initiate a response in the limbic brain and we'll invoke sound vibrations through the body with the intention of releasing and processing stored emotional energy. The series offers a prescriptive methodology for how to release and control energy in the body and the field, and most practitioners of Tantra can expect to have a direct experience of this. 

A mala bead mediation of 108 OM's brings a sense of being washed into a new frequency, as we experience wave after wave of vibration through the body mind. 

Built into this profoundly meditative practice is deep awareness phases used to enhance subtlety in body and mind. 

The practice gives way to a long rejuvenating practice of simple presence. Where we sedate muscles whilst keeping awareness awake and alive. As the body's muscles relax, the body relaxes, and a steady and beneficial awareness remains aware of the relaxation, leading the practitioner to a renewed sense of being. An opportunity to experience the profound stillness, peace, and expansiveness of our own essential nature. 

This practice is best suited to those with an established practice, and isn't encouraged for pregnancy due to deep backbends and long breath retentions. Expect a moderately strong physical practice (modifications available) and a very strong meditative practice.
